June 1: Call-to-prayer for the entire church family begins at 8:30 AM at 312 E. 9th Marshfield, WI.

June 16: Join the GBC family for a Father’s Day Picnic at 11771 Lincoln Avenue Marshfield, WI.  The Sunday evening service will be moved to the afternoon immediately following the picnic.

Throughout your life you are given the opportunity to choose friends.  This process started way back as a child growing up and it continues throughout your journey here on this earth.  You must not only learn how to choose a godly friend, but you must also learn how to be a godly friend.  So…what is a godly friend?  The Bible declares that a friend will not be a gossip (Proverbs 16:28), he will not reveal personal things unnecessarily (Proverbs 17:9), and he will stand with you through thick and thin (Proverbs 17:17).    A godly friend will tell you the truth, because he is your friend – and sometimes that hurts, but it is needful!  Proverbs 27:6 says, “Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.”  One more truth about a godly friend is that he will always lead you to live in submission to the Word of God.  In other words, a godly friend will not press you to do something that God condemns in His Word; like: rebel against authority, lie about your time sheet, or mislead a client.  All these truths are helpful; however, they are not at the root of a godly friend.  These things are mere blooms of the true root.  The root of being a godly friend is your heart.  The solution is not simply changing your words and actions.  The solution is found in a change of heart!  Join us this Sunday and pursue the best relationship of them all — a relationship with Jesus Christ that brings a change of heart.
